Inspired by a conversation I had with my friends last night, I decided to make this. I thought that if there are now 2.3K of you (WOW) this could maybe help at least one of you.
So: Rosa's Guide to being a Generally Happy Person
1. Laugh loads.
2. If you don't feel like laughing, smile.
3. Listen to some great music, with great lyrics.
4. If you need a distraction, watch Youtube.
5. Surround yourself with people who will make you smile, regardless of how you feel.
6. Surround yourself with people who make you feel fabulous.
7. Read lots of amazing books.
8. Take pictures of happy moments. You can look at them later and smile.
9. Stay hydrated.
10. Get plenty of sleep.
11. Don't isolate yourself. The more the merrier.
12. Talk to people about how you're feeling.
13. Learn to appreciate puns.
14. Tell lots of bad jokes. It's bound to make someone laugh (I have a great appreciation of them)
15. Avoid jealousy as much as possible (I know it's hard but it's worth tackling)
16. Keep your brain in good shape! Read, write, do algebra, whatever floats your boat.
17. Exercise!
18. Be nice to people. They will return it. And it also feels really great.
19. Keep busy.
20. Find a hobby that you genuinely love doing and do it often!
21. Treat yourself regularly.
22. Set yourself goals to achieve. They could be big or small, just something to work towards.
23. Let go of any long-held grudges.
24. Forgive and forget ^^
25. Do things that put you out of your comfort zone. It's hard, but it feels great once you've done it.
26. Be a little optimistic.
27. Wear things that make you feel pretty and confident.
28. Get fresh air regularly. Get some sun!
29. Understand that you're bound to get stressed sometimes, but know how to manage it (there's a good NHS page for that if you're interested.)
30. It's difficult, but build up your self esteem.
31. Tell the truth.
32. Don't bottle your feelings.
33. Be generous. Giving someone a present or something when they're not expecting it is the nicest feeling.
34. Choose a TV show to get emotionally invested in. It's even better when a friends' into it too.
35. Be musical! It's so easy to pick up the guitar. Learn some chords, accompany yourself.
36. Sing lots. I don't care whether you're tone deaf or Beyonce, sing.
37. Regularly remind yourself of all the good things about yourself.
38. And probably the hardest on this list: accept yourself. Tell yourself that some day, someone will come along that appreciates you as you are, your strengths, weaknesses, shape, size, flaws and imperfections (if you haven't found them already.)
Now, I'm aware this makes me sound like some lifestyle guru. Which I mostly definitely am not, I assure you. This list benefits me too, actually. I just happen to be a fairly happy-go-lucky person and decided to share what I think makes me and hopefully some of you a happier and more contented person. If this helps just one of you a tiny bit, I would be so genuinely pleased :D
Bye guys!
